Quality Policy Statement

Ackerman Engineering Ltd recognises that to succeed in its chosen market, it is essential to ensure total customer satisfaction.

It is the policy of Ackerman Engineering Ltd to provide its customers with manufactured products that are accurate, reliable, compliant with specification and consistent with their expectations. This policy relates to both goods and product documentation, which we undertake to dispatch within agreed timeframes.

It is the policy of Ackerman Engineering ltd to form partnerships, to be flexible and adapt including the employment of the latest technology. This will improve our ability, where possible to resolve any concerns efficiently and effectively.

To help meet these commitments we have implemented a Quality Management System (QMS) compliant with ISO9001. We are committed to continually improving the effectiveness of our QMS and have set relevant measurable objectives, against which we monitor our performance.

Ackerman Engineering Ltd is committed to meeting all statutory and regulatory requirements.

This Policy and the quality management system associated procedures are communicated to and made available to all employees.

The procedures themselves are kept under review by the Managing Director by means of the non-conformance control, auditing and a management review processes.

Environmental Policy Statement

Ackerman Engineering Ltd cares about the environment and we recognise that our operations have an effect on the local, regional and global environment. We are committed to continuous improvement to reduce, re-use, recycle and embrace sustainable solutions. Environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice will be regarded as setting the minimum standards of environmental performance.

Energy

• We conserve energy wherever possible
• We turn off machinery & appliances when not in use
• We turn off factory & office lighting when ambient light levels permit
• We use low energy lighting throughout the building
• We use automatic room occupancy switches in low usage rooms
• We are aware of winter heat loss and keep doors closed whenever possible

Transport

• We encourage responsible use of motorised transport
• We coordinate route planning and delivery schedules to realize the dual benefits of reduced fuel consumption and lower exhaust emissions
• We dispatch all goods by the most economical transportation means
• We support the Cycle to Work scheme
• We encourage car sharing

Waste minimisation and recycling

• We reduce, re-use and recycle waste
• We recycle waste – paper for use as packaging wherever possible
• We minimise office paper through digital / electronic storage
• We only print information that is critical to the task
• We re-use printed-paper for internal memos
• We use recycled paper for printing of stationary products where possible
• We recycle all sheet metal off-cuts
• We minimise metal usage through efficient & intelligent nesting software
• We minimize waste, especially hazardous waste
• We dispose of all waste through safe and responsible methods
• We expect our suppliers to be aware of and to minimise the environmental impact of services in which they supply

General

• We use environmentally friendly cleaning products
• We comply with environmental legislation, regulations and government guidance
• We ensure all employees know and understand the policy and what is expected of them
